And Now, Your Freebie
I’ve read a lot of books that don’t float my boat, but the ones on my list are all tomes I could spend an entire day with my nose in. My gift for you is a list of some of my favorite books that will open your mind and inspire your imagination.
Reading is important to creativity for several reasons
- As you read, your brain is conjuring images and visualizing information in order to process it. This brainwork is creative in and of itself.
- You are getting exposed to new ideas and information that your brain will ‘riff’ on later.
- Immersing yourself in another person’s perspective or story gives you a break from reality and lets you unwind and relax
There are so many other benefits to reading – it is a vital part of anyone’s creative practice. I’ve tried to include a variety- quick reads, fiction and non-fiction. Download my list below and settle in with a title that suits you.
I’m always on the lookout for well-written, take-me-away books to read, often asking family and friends the same question each time we meet, “What are you reading right now?” So now it is your turn! Comment below with some of your all-time favorite reads.
